Papoose Conservation Wildlife Foundation Awards 2008 Grants
Our Papoose Coastal Nature Cruise and donations raised $1258.17 to fund the important work of Papoose Conservation Wildlife Foundation to bring children into Nature and support wildlife diversity and protection.
In 2008 Papoose Conservation Wildlife Foundation awarded 2 grants

$1,000 was awarded to Aquatic Adventurers in San Diego. Aquatic Adventures (http://www.aquaticadventures.org/) educates urban youth about science and nature through tuition-free programs. The Papoose Conservation Wildlife Foundation award of $1,000 will provide funding for Canyon Exploration, an expansion of their programs in a new direction. The grant will create the opportunity for 100 children to discover and experience nature in both the classroom and in local habitats.

The second grant was awarded to the Carnivore and Pangolin Conservation Program, at Cuc Phong National Park, in Viet Nam. They received $1,720 to support a survey to determine the status, ecology and conservation requirements of pangolin in the wild. The pangolin is a unique looking ant and termite eating mammal whose physical appearance is marked by large, hardened, plate-like scales.
The Carnivore and Pangolin Conservation Program is committed to securing a future for wild populations of threatened pangolins in Vietnam. They are dedicated to increasing understanding of and respect for this unique species and their habitats and empowering people to take action to conserve them. This is a species that is severely threatened by poaching and habitat destruction. For more information on the Pangolin go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pangolin
